It’s been a long time since Sami Zayn put on his famous mask and became El Generico but it looks like since Zayn was fired the generic luchador character could be experiencing a 2nd life.
We previously reported how Kevin Owens changed his name on Twitter and lost his verified status. It looks like Sami Zayn hasn’t changed his Twitter handle, but he did resurrect an old account that hasn’t been active since 2013 before he signed to NXT and gave up the El Generico persona.
El Generico recently sent out his first tweet since August 13th, 2013.
Now to add even more intrigue to the matter, ProWrestlingTees is selling El Generico merchandise once again for twelve days only. The deadline happens to fall on the day after WrestleMania Sunday which is incredibly interesting. So, if you want a blast from the past in t-shirt form then you know where to go for the time being.
Only time will tell what happens in the current Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn storyline on SmackDown Live. It’s been pretty interesting so far. After all, with Shane McMahon’s recent illness and requiring surgery their match is likely to experience a huge change.
One thing is for sure if Sami shows up on SmackDown Live wearing his El Generico mask I’m sure plenty of ROH fans are going to mark out pretty hardcore.
