Austin Aries and Trevor Lee meet in an Opera Cup quarterfinal on MLW Fusion this Thursday, October 22, at 8 p.m. ET, streaming free on Tubi. MLW announced the match on its website.
Both men hold MLW titles. Aries is the National Openweight Champion, and Lee is the Southern Crown Champion. The winner advances to the Opera Cup semifinals.
Aries interfered in Lee’s first-round Opera Cup win over Místico on the September 17 episode of Fusion. MLW says Aries now calls himself the “Phantom of the Opera Cup.”
STARDOM’s Saya Kamitani also wrestles on the show. Kamitani faces Lady Frost with Rina in her corner, representing H.A.T.E.
Two stars booked for Saturday Night SuperFight will also be on Thursday’s show. Tessa Blanchard will appear ahead of her MLW debut, and IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji will send an exclusive message ahead of his appearance at the event.
As of this writing, MLW has announced the following for Fusion:
- Opera Cup quarterfinal: Austin Aries vs. Trevor Lee
- Saya Kamitani (with Rina) vs. Lady Frost
- Tessa Blanchard appears
- A message from Yota Tsuji
Saturday Night SuperFight takes place November 7 at Cicero Stadium in Cicero, Illinois. MLW says the show is sold out, and it streams live on VEEPS pay-per-view at 8 p.m. ET.
