WWE has signed Amanpreet Singh to a developmental contract. You might not recognize that name but Impact Wrestling fans know him as Mahabali Shera. The story on WWE.com describes him as an independent wrestler and bodybuilder from Punjab, India.
“I came to the U.S. with the dream that someday, I am going to make my country proud,” Singh told WWE.com. “I would consider myself fortunate if I am able to become a positive role model for the youngsters of my country and impact lives. I don’t think I can find a better platform than WWE to empower myself to empower others, especially those back at home.”
Singh first got on Impact Wrestling’s radar in 2011 when he was brought in for TNA’s Ring Ka King promotion in India. He signed with TNA/Impact in 2014 and was given a top level push as part of Impact’s efforts to endear themselves to their TV partners in India. His profile was removed from the Impact Wrestling website in November.
He joins other recent signees from India such as Indian TV star Saurav Gurjar, Rinku Singh and Kavita Devi, the first Indian woman to sign with the company.
