As we wrote about on Thursday, the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio is already advertising Roman Reigns’ return to the ring and it will happen at WWE Fastlane. According to the local ad, Reigns will team with Seth Rollins and they will face Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin in a 2-on-3 handicap match. However, someone will be added to the mix on Monday.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE has plans to do an angle on Monday Night Raw to get Dean Ambrose involved in the storyline so they can add him to the match at Fastlane so they can do another Shield reunion.
On Monday, the new Fastlane match will be Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose vs. Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin or Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose vs. Lashley, McIntyre, Corbin and Elias to make it a 3-on-4 match.
We first reported last week that the announcers were told at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view to specifically mention The Shield when Braun Strowman was triple powerbombed through a table. We were told this week that WWE knew a week or two before the pay-per-view that Reigns would be returning so that is why the decision was made to turn Ambrose face again. There is still no word on if Ambrose will sign a new contract but, if he doesn’t, then he will be finishing up with WWE during WrestleMania weekend.
