Booker T: Brock Lesnar Trilogy Match ‘Would Be Better If Oba Had A WWE World Title’

Booker T has shared how he would book the Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar trilogy match, and he took a moment to remind everyone of his own King of the Ring legacy in the process.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker discussed Femi’s path now that the King of the Ring winner has earned a world title shot at SummerSlam. With Femi sitting at a 1-1 record against Lesnar, Booker said the ideal version of a rubber match would see Femi as the champion and Lesnar as the challenger. However, that is not obviously happening with Femi giving up his World Title match in favor of taking on Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam.

“I think the trilogy would be better if Oba had the championship and Brock was challenging,” Booker said. He explained that the dynamic would keep fans guessing, even with Femi holding the gold. “If he’s the champion, he’s a champion, but that doesn’t make him the favorite. People are still going to be wondering if Brock Lesnar is going to win the championship one more time. I think that’s the build-up for me, if I’m booking it.”

Booker also couldn’t resist pointing out his place in King of the Ring history when the subject of the tournament’s world title reward came up.

“The winner of the King of the Ring gets a title shot, and the reason that is, is because of me,” Booker said. “I’m the only one to ever win the King of the Ring to go on and literally just take the championship by force.”

As for Femi’s decision, Booker stressed that the King of the Ring winner now carries the weight of expectation.

“People are going to judge him from this run. How good of a king was Oba Femi at the end of the day?” he said. “From king to king, I’d say go out and rule, but rule with that iron fist, and you won’t have to worry about a thing.”
