CM Punk has been in the headlines the last few days due to various reasons including speculation about his AEW status to his wild rant on Instagram to an interesting story about how he met Shawn Michaels for the first time by accidentally taking his table at a restaurant.
Punk got a lot of people talking on Thursday with his Instagram post that has since been deleted about Jon Moxley’s pitch for a short match on Dynamite before their All Out bout and ripping Dave Meltzer and Chris Jericho.
Punk’s status with the promotion is still up in the air following the All Out press conference incident, but more signs are pointing to his departure. As previously reported by Fightful Select, he did speak briefly with Kenny Omega after the All Out brawl where he told him that he didn’t have issues with Omega.
On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that there was a lot of heat in AEW over Punk’s post.
Punk responded to a post from Rey Mysterio after his angle on WWE SmackDown last night where he agreed to fight his son, Dominik, in a match at WrestleMania 39 after months of Dominik talking badly about him.
Rey wrote, “Every man has his limits… Don’t forget, she’s not only your mother, but my wife. See you at #WrestleMania.”
Punk commented, “Good for you Rey. I’ve wanted to punch him for 13 years!”

Longtime WWE fans will remember the feud between Mysterio and Punk in 2010. At the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Rey pinned Punk during a World Heavyweight Championship Chamber match before they wrestled at WrestleMania 26 and at Extreme Rules where Mysterio shaved Punk’s head after picking up the win with the stipulation that if Punk lost he would lose his hair. Punk wore a mask for several weeks while his hair grew back.
Punk once did a segment on SmackDown where he sang Happy Birthday to Rey’s daughter Aaliyah in a creepy way.
