I don’t know where this Booker T-Corey Graves feud is going but it just goes to show that sometimes reality can be more entertaining than scripted promos.
On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Graves took a shot at Booker T without mentioning his name. Just as Bayley was about to make her entrance, Graves said the following to Jonathan Coachman: “Better be careful Coach, watch your tongue or you might be doing afternoon radio locally.”
That was definitely a jab at Booker T and his radio show that airs locally on the CBS Affiliate in Houston and online through multiple podcast platforms. I think most of you know by now but if you missed Booker’s comments about Graves then you can click here to listen. Basically, Booker is upset and blames Graves for costing him his seat on Monday Night Raw.
There is nothing indicating that this is a work between both men. In fact, Bryan Alvarez made a good point on Monday’s Wrestling Observer Live. It’s likely that Booker is upset and he made sure to mention WrestleMania for a potential match with Graves. The thing is that Booker knows that Graves will never get cleared because of his concussion history so the WrestleMania reference might be Booker’s “out” if he gets in any trouble with management since he could just say that he was trying to build a match.
Let’s be clear here. There is legitimate heat between them and the jabs can be traced back to 2015. During the 2015 Hell in a Cell Kickoff show, Booker told Graves, “This is not time for you to try to get a job. Keep the one you got right now before you end up getting fired.”
Here’s the clip from Raw of Graves taking a shot at Booker:
