Edge talks possibility of WWE comeback after Daniel Bryan’s return

Daniel Bryan’s return got a lot of people excited but naturally, some people wanted more. Edge had to retire way too soon as well the day after WrestleMania XXVII where he successfully defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio.

But since Bryan was cleared to return, it sounds like Edge received a lot of requests for him to do the same. This is a topic The Ultimate Opportunist addressed on E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness on their one-year anniversary episode.

“I greatly appreciate that people would like to see me have one more match or come back or ‘Daniel Bryan got cleared so why can’t you?’ I will never be cleared. Mine is a completely different injury. He had neck issues, but it wasn’t neck issues that retired him initially, it was the concussion issues,” Edge said.

“I never had concussion issues. What I have is cervical spinal stenosis, look it up” he continued.

“Stupid neck,” Christian interjected as the Rated R Superstar continued saying, “I have stupid neck, just look it up. You can look up ‘stupid neck’ and they’ll probably be a picture of my neck. Just do me a favor and look it up and you will realize that the WWE will never medically clear me to compete again. And I appreciate it, but that’s all there is to that.”

Edge continued saying Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels’ injuries were different than his because they came back and did matches. Unfortuantely, Edge suffered a much different injury, “for lack of better term mine’s worse” Edge concluded.

Therefore, it might be great to have Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan experience new breathes of life in their careers, but there’s no such luck of seeing Edge in the same situation.
