El Hijo del Vikingo will undergo another knee surgery, three months after his first operation on the left knee injury that has kept him out of the ring since June.
Vikingo announced the surgery on Instagram on Tuesday:
“Unfortunately tomorrow Mr HDLV will undergo another knee surgery, thank you all for your support 🙏🫵✊”

He did not say which knee is being operated on, why the second procedure is needed or whether it changes his recovery timeline.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in July that Vikingo was expected to be out for about nine months after his first surgery, which would put a return around April 2027. In September, speaking on the first episode of WWE Ahora, WWE’s Spanish-language podcast, he said doctors had been impressed with his progress and that he had started walking sooner than expected. “They told me I’m doing well, but I shouldn’t rush things,” he said.
Vikingo hurt his left knee before he was due to defend the AAA Latin American Championship against E.K. Prosper on the June 30 episode of NXT, and the match was pulled. He had surgery on July 7 for what was reported as a torn ACL. He had won the title at Noche de Los Grandes in Monterrey on May 30, and AAA general manager Rey Mysterio vacated it on July 11. La Parka won the vacant championship at Ola de Calor in Edinburg, Texas, on August 30.
In February 2024, while he was AAA Mega Champion, Vikingo had surgery on his right knee for a ruptured ligament and a torn meniscus.
WrestlingNews.co wishes El Hijo del Vikingo a full recovery.
