Karen Jarrett comments on the incident with Braun Strowman

On Wednesday’s Global Force Wrestling conference call, Karen Jarrett was asked about the reports of an incident with Braun Strowman at Jeff Hardy’s CD release party in Nashville. The incident occurred after Raw on 7/17 and there were several wrestlers from GFW and WWE that saw what went down.

Jarrett downplayed the reports on the conference call. She said, “Oh my goodness, I can clear the air. It was a silly incident where two people in the wrestling business were playing their characters – being silly and it got blown way out of proportion. The fact that it’s still in the news and it’s still being talked about, that’s a question that you took the time to ask I think is hysterical.” She added, “It’s silliness. It’s the wrestling business, we had fun with it and somebody took it and turned it into something more than it was.”

Essentially, as first reported by The Wrestling Observer newsletter, Jarrett went up to Strowman and asked for an autograph for her son. Strowman, apparently not recognizing who she was (and he seemed to be either drunk and/or in a bad mood), said something derogatory to her. There is one report claiming that he said “fuck your son” but others that were there did not hear what was said but several people heard him apologize after Jarrett went off on him and when she told him that her son is also the son of Kurt Angle. There have been conflicting reports on whether or not he actually got down on his knees to apologize.

Although Jarrett has downplayed the story, multiple sources have confirmed that the incident, as reported in the Wrestling Observer newsletter, did indeed happen.
