Kevin Nash says there was heat between him and Hulk Hogan when the nWo split into two factions in 1998.

On the latest episode of Kliq This, Nash was read a listener question asking whether there was any heat between him and “Hollywood” Hogan when the group broke into nWo Hollywood and the nWo Wolfpac.

“Yeah, that’s why they kept Scott,” Nash said, referring to Scott Hall.

Nash was then asked how two top stars with heat between them made it work.

“That’s why the NWOs, the two factions, never fought,” Nash said. “It was just easier to mesh us all back together.”

Nash was asked if it was a blown opportunity, and he responded with, “Scott and I wouldn’t have been on the same side together.”

The split began when Nash, Randy Savage and Konnan came out in red-and-black Wolfpac shirts on the May 4, 1998 episode of Nitro, while Hogan kept the black-and-white nWo Hollywood. Hall first sided with the Wolfpac, then turned on Nash at Slamboree that month and joined Hogan’s group.

Hogan and Nash did not wrestle each other while the factions were apart, though members of the two sides did meet. Hall and The Giant beat Sting and Nash for the WCW World Tag Team Championship in July 1998, and Hall beat Nash by countout at Halloween Havoc that October. The split ended on the January 4, 1999 episode of Nitro, when Hogan poked Nash in the chest to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in the “Fingerpoke of Doom” and the two reunited with Hall and Scott Steiner.

Hogan died in July 2025 at the age of 71.
