There should be an announcement soon, perhaps within the next week or so, on the location for WrestleMania 35. The rumor is that they will be going back to the New York/New Jersey area. @TicketDrew on Twitter was the first to report back in November that Mania would be in the NYC area. MetLife Stadium hosted WrestleMania 29 and the WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony took place in Madison Square Garden. For marketing purposes, the promotion of the show was heavily pushed as WrestleMania’s return to NYC even though MetLife Stadium is in New Jersey.
WWE hasn’t confirmed this but if this rumor is accurate then it would make sense to run the Hall Of Fame ceremony and NXT Takeover at MSG. It would make sense for WrestleMania Axxess to be held at the adjacent Izod Center. We normally stay away from rumors like this unless there is some sort of confirmation but @TicketDrew has a good track record for breaking ticket-related news. Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports is also reporting that NY/NJ will host next year’s WrestleMania.
For those of you wondering, Philadelphia and Detroit put in bids to host the show next year. MetLife Stadium was originally supposed to host this year’s show but they got a better bid from New Orleans. One of the main reasons why New Orleans pushed so hard to get Mania is because they want to tie it in with the festivities surround the 300 year anniversary of the city.
