WWE has announced three matches for tonight’s Smackdown Live broadcast.
Shinsuke Nakamura will take on Shelton Benjamin. AJ Styles wrestled in multi-man matches over the weekend so it looks like he will be healthy enough for WrestleMania and he could get physically involved tonight.
WWE noted that all three members of The New Day are healthy and they will be taking on The Bludgeon Brothers in a two vs. two tag team match. Presumably, this will lead us to whatever the plans are for the Smackdown Tag team Championship match at WrestleMania. It certainly looks like it will be New Day vs. The Usos vs. The Bludgeon Brothers and possibly Benjamin and Chad Gable in a Fatal 4-Way match.
Also, Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will take on Natalya. Flair is looking to avenge her loss to Natalya from last week’s show as she gets ready to defend her title against Asuka at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.
The big story for tonight is how they will proceed with the Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn vs. Shane McMahon/Daniel Bryan feud. No match has been announced but that seems to have been the direction for WrestleMania. Shane McMahon is still hospitalized and it looks very unlikely that he will be able to compete in New Orleans so WWE will have to figure out something else.
