It looks like the plans for a “Global Warning” stadium show in Australia are still on the table. Pro Wrestling Sheet first reported the news in December and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed that talks are still ongoing with the Melbourne Cricket Grounds. The stadium seats 100,000 people.
Sports Day in Australia reported that the stadium has been trying to get major events that used to play in Etihad Stadium. That includes a Bon Jovi concert and WWE.
If this show ends up taking place then you have to wonder if it will air live on the WWE Network. Australia has become a hotbed for professional wrestling. Independent wrestling is hot there and New Japan Pro Wrestling ticket sales have been strong for their Australia tour.
