This just goes to show you never know what can happen at a WWE house show. When fans in Montreal on Saturday night were disappointed to see Sami Zayn take a beating from Jinder Mahal, a very unlikely ally came down to assist Zayn.
DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN ZAYN AND OWENS DID SOMETHING REALLY COOL THE LAST TIME THEY WERE IN MONTREAL?
Kevin Owens ran in for the save and brought the fight to Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers in a big way. You can tell by how loud the crowd popped that they were not expecting this but loved every second of it. It was certainly unexpected, that’s for sure.
On a side note: Sami and Kevin got their start in the Montreal-based International Wrestling Syndicate organization which ironically was holding their “Scarred 4 Life” iPPV across town. While IWS sold their venue out, WWE didn’t do as well but then again they had way more seats to fill.
If this is a sign of things to come, then that is awesome. After all, Kevin and Sami make great partners. But they also make even better opponents so this was likely just a one-time thing to get the hometown crowd to pop extra hard. It would have certainly sent us home happy.
