The NXT Tag Team Division was left with a lot of unanswered questions after NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. Authors Of Pain finally tasted defeat and there was an invasion of sorts in the form of Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish. Whether they’re being billed as reDRagon or not is beside the point, the fact is they’re going for the gold and it’s a very exciting proposition.
Fish and O’Reilly beat down everyone in the ring leaving the NXT Tag Team Division’s top guys a broken heap in the ring.
Dave Meltzer recently discussed the NXT Tag Team Division and what could be next on Wrestling Observer Radio.
“It was hard to sense with the Authors of Pain whether that loss is setting to bring them up” Meltzer said. “I mean Fish and O’Reilly did attack them both so they could be doing a three-way program and it feels early for the Authors of Pain to go up [to the WWE main roster] but you know SaNITy obviously isn’t.”
He continued to discuss another angle on the TakeOver: Brooklyn III show when Andrade Cien Almas came out victorious over Johnny Gargano.
“[Andrade Cien] Almas — I guess Almas had to win as great as Johnny Gargano did in that match. They gotta get [Almas and Zelina Vega] over as a unit. So he pretty much had to win that match I think realistically. What a great opener that was.”
What ever happens after NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, one thing is for sure they’ve certainly piqued our interest.
