You might have to say goodbye to War Machine’s name in order for the WWE Universe to say hello. We previously reported that it looked like WWE was toying with distancing themselves from the War Machine and Warbeard Hanson names, and it looks like those assumptions were correct.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that not only is WWE referring to War Machine as Raymond Rowe and Todd Smith which are both their real names but Ricochet is also being called Trevor “Ricochet” Mann.
It was noted that it sounds like no real decision has been made regarding what name Ricochet will use but they probably need to figure that out quickly.
It was also speculated that changing the War Machine name probably had little to do with the infamous MMA fighter who is now incarcerated serving a life sentence with a possibility of parole after 36 years due to horrible violent crimes. It was likely just another instance of WWE changing up someone’s name when they came in.
To be fair, Raymond Rowe and Todd Smith are their real names but it might not have the same ring to it as War Machine.
