Celebrity steroid dealer says Roman Reigns was one of his clients (updated)

UPDATE: Click here to read Roman Reigns’ statement.

ORIGINAL: This is not the kind of headline that WWE is looking for, especially as they head into WrestleMania season. Roman Reigns is being alleged to be one of the celebrity clients for Richard Rodriguez. Rodriguez ran the Iron Addicts Gym in Miami, FL and he was arrested in February 2017 for allegedly operating an international steroid ring. Rodriguez is currently incarcerated.

Rodriguez allegedly bought them from China and then distributed them in the United States, among other countries. Filmmaker Johnny Bravo interviewed Rodriguez for a documentary and the $10 million operation was discussed.

Rodriguez named Reigns, and actors Josh Duhamel and Mark Wahlberg. “One of them, in particular, is a very famous wrestler by the name of Roman Reigns. He was originally introduced to me by one of the informants,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez says that he took a plea deal rather than going to trial. During discovery, there is a process called “tried and true statements” and that basically required him to disclose everyone “who the investigators or people who were investigating you have spoken to, with regards to your company, to you, with regards to any other co-defendants associated with the indictment.”

We should note that these are just statements from one person. Reigns failed WWE’s wellness policy in 2016 but that was reportedly for Adderall and not steroids.
