Court Bauer’s MLW has signed a TV deal

The rumors have been out there for a couple of weeks and now it’s confirmed. Court Bauer’s Major League Wrestling has signed a television deal with beIN Sports. The news was reported by Sports Illustrated on Monday.

The weekly show will air on Friday night’s at 8 pm eastern, opposite of New Japan Pro Wrestling on AXS TV. There’s no need to worry because you can watch both shows because a replay will air at 11 pm eastern. Tony Schiavone and Rich Bocchini will call the action every week. It would be Schiavone’s return to the national stage since WCW closed down in 2001.

beIN Sports is available currently airs international soccer, NCAA football, and boxing. The top brass at beIN Sports were impressed with MLW presenting themselves as sport rather than sports entertainment.

What is so impressive about this deal is that they are getting a rights fee. In contrast, Impact Wrestling is on a barter deal with Pop TV. “MLW’s calling card is tapping into what fans are excited about,” Bauer told SI.com. “We struck oil with our podcast network, and this will continue in that spirit with the way we present the next generation of wrestling. We’re presenting talent in a distinct tone that is different from anything else out there.”

beIN Sports is available through several providers including DirecTV, Dish Network, Cox, AT&T U-Verse, Optimum and Sling TV.
