Something interesting happened recently when it comes to the odds of who is going to win the 2018 Men’s Royal Rumble match. Daniel Bryan’s odds jumped from 1/60 to 1/9 almost overnight meaning something very curious could be going on backstage in WWE.
Bryan Alvarez recently opened up about this sudden shift in odds on Wrestling Observer Live where he said it seems something was pitched backstage which would presumably see the Bearded GOAT walking out of the Royal Rumble match with his hand raised on his way to WrestleMania 34’s main event.
“Here’s what I can tell you, it’s all I can tell you, okay?” Alvarez said. “Because, if Daniel Bryan is going to win the Rumble they’re gonna try and keep it as secret as possible but here’s what I can tell you. Clearly, and I don’t know what it is but clearly, someone had some sort of idea that involved Daniel Bryan winning the Royal Rumble.”
“Obviously, word got out and some people in the company placed bets. But, as of right now as of this moment Daniel Bryan is not cleared. The situation has not changed one single solitary bit with Daniel Bryan. He is not cleared. I guess they could find some way for him to win the Royal Rumble but I’ll just flat out say, I don’t think Daniel Bryan’s winning the Royal Rumble.”
If Daniel Bryan really does pull off a win in Philly it will certainly be a water cooler moment the next morning. But in all likelihood, this shift in odds is bound to be followed by another one where Bryan’s odds will be lower. But you can never say never in WWE.
