CM Punk’s last MMA fight was his loss to Mickey Gall in September 2016. Since that time, there have been questions regarding a second fight. At different times, UFC President Dana White has expressed interest in setting up another Punk fight and other times he has seemed non-committal to the idea.
Conor McGregor’s future in UFC is in question, Ronda Rousey is seemingly retired from fighting, and there are questions about Georges St. Pierre’s fighting future so they need more draws so White seems more open now about Punk fighting again. In fact, he told the Associated Press on Friday that he doesn’t have a date or opponent in mind for Punk but he is “working on it.”
“I like that guy. He’s a good dude,” White said. “He wants one more. He wants to get another shot. I’m going to give it to him.”
Meanwhile, Punk continues to train at Roufusport MMA Academy:
