The final round of TV tapings leading up to NXT Takeover: New Orleans took place on Wednesday night.
Here’s what went down:
No Way Jose defeated Marcel Barthel
Tommaso Ciampa went out to the ring and the crowd tried to drown him out but he finally talked and said that Gargano is gone. Ciampa sat on the apron and then ripped up Gargano signs that were handed out earlier. Gargano then attacked Ciampa.
Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne defeated Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch to advance in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
Ember Moon defeated Aliyah. Shayna Baszler was on commentary.
Raul Mendoza was attacked by Andrade Cien Almas before his match. Almas then cut a promo on Black, his challenger for Takeover: New Orleans.
Adam Cole defeated Kassius Ohno.
As noted earlier, William Regal went out and announced the creation of the NXT North American Championship. EC3 came out. Click here for more details on what happened.
Authors Of Pain defeated The Street Profits to advance in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne defeated Alexander Wolfe and Eric Young from SAnitY with a double team version of the bitter end to advance in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Lars Sullivan defeated John Silver.
Almas attacked Black in the parking lot. This was shown to the crowd on the big screen. They made their way to ringside and the attack from Almas continued. He used a chair to beat down Black. Black was helped to the backstage area.
Velveteen Dream defeated Trent Seven.
Lars Sullivan vs. Killian Dain ended in a no-contest. Everyone that will compete in the North American title match at Takeover came out and they brawled.
Kari Sane defeated Vanessa Borne.
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals… Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong vs. The Authors of Pain ended in a no-contest when they were attacked by Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly.
Ricochet defeated Chris Dijak. It was said to be an excellent match.
