Cody Rhodes wants to lead Team USA against Rey Mysterio’s Team Mexico at WWE Survivor Series.

Rhodes made the pitch on the WWE Crown Jewel post-show Saturday after he beat Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Rhodes won by punting Orton after Orton was busted open on the steel steps.

“Rey Mysterio is over there on Stephanie’s podcast talking about a Team Mexico versus Team USA. Sounds great. He’s going to lead Team Mexico. I’d love to lead Team USA,” Rhodes said. “Rey Mysterio, if you’re listening to me, let’s make that happen at Survivor Series. Let’s do that. You’re on.”

Rhodes also addressed the punt.

“It is a huge win, and it’s a win that did not require me punting Randy Orton. I had Randy Orton beat, and I still punted Randy Orton,” Rhodes said. “I don’t want to hear ‘will he, won’t he’ ever again.”

He added that Orton “still at one point was my hero, my mentor. That never goes away.”

Survivor Series takes place Saturday, November 28, at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas.

Chelsea Green: ‘I Lost A Friend’

Chelsea Green beat Liv Morgan for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship, then lost the WWE Women’s Championship minutes later when Tiffany Stratton cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on her. Stratton hit Green with the briefcase and her moonsault for the win.

“I spent my entire wrestling career waiting for this moment, waiting to stand there and tell the WWE Universe and my mom and my dad and all my friends, I belong here,” Green said. “I just spent 10 minutes on SmackDown telling the crowd that this was going to be the moment in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel that I was going to show everybody that I belonged here, and instead, I didn’t just lose my championship, but I lost a friend.”

“So I’m gonna go home, and I’m gonna regroup, and I’m gonna do whatever I need to do to build my confidence back up,” she continued.

Stratton, now a two-time WWE Women’s Champion, did not explain why she cashed in on Green instead of Morgan.

“Of course, I was going to take advantage of the situation,” Stratton said. “Look at all this gold. I feel like it looks better on me anyway.”

Sami Zayn On Roman Reigns’ Respect

Roman Reigns beat Sami Zayn with a spear to become the Men’s Crown Jewel Champion. Reigns then hugged Zayn instead of shaking his hand.

“I’ve worked my a** off. My entire life, my career, I have put out a body of work that is second to none,” Zayn said. “All I’ve ever wanted is treatment in accordance, in line with my talent, and I didn’t get it for years and years.”

“It took everything he had, everything he had to put me away,” Zayn continued. “I didn’t get what I wanted. I wanted to win. But I got what I needed. I got the respect that I deserved from that man, the biggest star in this industry over the last 20 years.”

Penta And Je’Von Evans Win Their First Tag Titles

Penta and Je’Von Evans beat Bron Breakker and Austin Theory for the World Tag Team Championship after Oba Femi powerbombed Bronson Reed off the stage and through a table. It is Evans’ first WWE championship. Penta also holds the men’s Money in the Bank contract.

“Tonight we make history. First time ever in our life, we are becoming tag team champions,” Penta said.

“I’m happy. I’m excited. This is my first title. This is our first time being a tag team champion,” Evans said. “We gonna keep on having titles.”
