Jack Perry’s future in AEW remains up in the air, with a new update suggesting he has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Perry has been with AEW since its inception in 2019, but his contract is reportedly at or near its expiration. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez offered the latest on the situation, indicating Perry was still believed to be without a new agreement. “As of last week, he was not. It’s possible he signed today, but I think he’s still unsigned,” Alvarez said.
The update follows earlier reporting that Perry’s deal was set to lapse “at any moment” and that he and AEW were negotiating a new contract. While the expectation has been that Perry will ultimately re-sign, Alvarez has cautioned that nothing is guaranteed.
One of AEW’s longest-tenured talents, Perry has had a lot of success, holding the TNT Championship, the National Championship, the World Tag Team Championship as part of Jurassic Express, and the now-retired FTW Championship. He also won the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing 2021.
He was eliminated from the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament by Mark Davis. Weeks earlier, Davis had also taken the National Championship from Perry on the Fairway to Hell special. He lost to Zack Saber Jr. on this week’s Dynamite.
