Paige is in Orlando ahead of tonight’s WWE NXT, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported.
WWE sources confirmed to PWInsider that Paige was specifically brought into town, but it is not known what she is there to do.
NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan defends the title tonight against a mystery opponent chosen by NXT general manager Robert Stone. PWInsider could not confirm that Paige’s trip is connected to that match.
Jordan retained the title against Wren Sinclair at NXT Halloween Havoc on Saturday and was then told she would defend it again this week without being told who she would face.
Paige returned to WWE at WrestleMania 42 in April, replacing an injured Nikki Bella. She and Brie Bella won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship that night and held the titles until losing to Fatal Influence at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July. She has since been feuding with Nikki Bella on SmackDown.
Paige was the first NXT Women’s Champion before moving to the main roster in 2014.
NXT airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on The CW from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, head to head with AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts. The show also has CM Punk challenging Grayson Waller for the NXT Championship and an appearance from John Cena. Full cards for both shows are here.
