One of the “realest guys in the room” may be back in WWE. There is belief that Enzo Amore has signed with the company over the last week, according to PWInsider Elite.
One source the outlet spoke to believed Amore may be on his way to WWE NXT.
Amore was spotted at the WWE Performance Center in May, as reported by False Finish’s Cory Hays. His former tag team partner, Big Cass, returned to WWE on the August 3 Raw in Des Moines, Iowa, the night after SummerSlam, attacking Je’Von Evans. Amore did not return with him.
As recently as last week, Fightful Select reported that Amore had talks with WWE this year and still wanted to return, but had not signed.
Amore and Cass teamed in NXT and on the main roster, where their entrances were among the most popular on WWE television. Cass turned on Amore in 2017, and Amore went on to win the Cruiserweight Championship. Amore left WWE in January 2018, and Cass was released that June. Cass has been working as a heel on Raw since his return.
Analysis:
It’s unclear whether WWE plans to pair Amore with Cass again. With Cass working as a heel, WWE could turn Cass babyface and bring back the old act, bring Amore in as a heel alongside him, or use Amore as a solo act.
My pick would be Enzo as Big Cass’ manager. Amore is one of the best talkers of his generation, and pro wrestling is better with more managers.
