Drew McIntyre says he will be back in WWE “when I decide,” and that he is coming back with new additions to his offense.

McIntyre spoke about his return on Insight with Chris Van Vliet.

“Again, whenever I come back, because we’re focused on Hollywood, Drew, and I’ll keep reinforcing that. And I know the audience, our fans, are wanting me back. I see the messages every day, and I appreciate it,” McIntyre said. “Just give me a little second, and I’ll be back just a little second when I decide.”

Asked whether he has been getting in shape to return, McIntyre said he is at 285 pounds and in the best shape of his life.

“I’m just seeing what happens right now. I’m enjoying myself. Hollywood Drew is jumping from project to project, and when the time is right, WWE is home,” he said.

McIntyre said he and his trainer have focused on joint spacing, range of motion and building his base from the feet up, and that he has never felt more stable.

“I feel so strong base-wise, I could catch anybody and spin them around and chuck them wherever I want to chuck them, and I’ve got a feeling some of my offense is going to be unique,” McIntyre said.

He said highlight videos fans sent him reminded him of moves he had forgotten.

“I’m going to start stealing for myself. Forgot I did have the moves, and I physically can do them easily now, and probably better than I did them when I was in my 20s,” McIntyre said.

Asked if that means new additions to his arsenal, he said, “Yes, 100%. Mostly violence.”

McIntyre also said he has never had this much time away from the ring. “Ever, by far since I started wrestling at 15 years old. I have not had six months off,” he said.

He has not wrestled since April 18, when he lost to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match on Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Since then, he has filmed the Highlander reboot with Henry Cavill and The Last Druid with Russell Crowe, and he stars in Agent of Shadows, which premieres on ReelShort on October 23. He posted video of himself running the ropes in September. WWE has not announced a return date.
