Goldberg To Bret Hart: I Love You, Bret. Don’t Be Such A Prick. Grow Up.

The end of Bret Hart’s career was covered in the second episode of “Who Killed WCW,” in which the WWE Hall of Famer took shots at Goldberg, something he has done for years.

That is due to Goldberg injuring Hart after delivering a botched kick to his head at WCW Starrcade 1999 in the main event for the WCW World Heavyweight Title. The kick resulted in Hart suffering a severe concussion which ultimately led to the end of his career.

Goldberg said in the documentary that he warned Hart that the kick was coming, but everything happened so fast that for Hart, it caught him off guard. He also continued to rip Goldberg for being an unsafe worker.

While appearing on Busted Open Radio, Goldberg addressed Hart’s criticism and jokingly asked Hart to leave him alone.

Goldberg said, “The Bret Hart thing is just it just saddens me as a human being. That’s all. I mean, first and foremost, I would never wish ill will upon any opponent or anyone like that to have an accident like that happen. And end someone’s career, especially someone who’s, you know, one of the best that ever was 100%. It sucks. I’m not asking anybody to understand it. I’m just saying, just leave me alone… Yes, sir [about warning him the kick was coming]. Put your hand up. Do whatever you got to do, man. It is what it is. Come on, man. I love you, Bret. Don’t be such a prick. That’s all. Grow up.”
