Ric Flair has canceled his scheduled appearance at Washington State Horror Con because of a blood clot in his leg. Flair said in a post on X on Friday that his doctors have limited his travel to three to four hours, and that the trip to Seattle falls outside that range.

“Unfortunately, I Am Dealing With A Blood Clot In My Leg, And My Doctors Have Limited My Travel To 3โ€“4 Hours. Seattle Falls Outside That Range, And As Disappointed As I Am, I Have To Put My Health And Recovery First,” Flair wrote.

He said he is scheduled to have a procedure on the vein.

“I’m Scheduled To Have A Procedure To Strip The Affected Vein, Which My Doctors Expect Will Allow Me To Be Cleared For More Travel Afterward,” he wrote.

Flair pointed to Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, whose blood clot traveled from his calf to his lungs this month, as a reason he is following his doctors’ advice.

“Blood Clots Are Extremely Serious And Can Be Life-Threatening. We Have Seen This Recently With Jalen Hurts And The Complications Involving Blood Clots In His Lungs. It Is A Reminder That This Is Not Something To Take Lightly, And I Must Follow Medical Advice,” Flair wrote.

He apologized to his agent, Steve Solomon, the convention, Big Event NY and his fans in Seattle. “I Look Forward To Getting Healthy And Seeing You All Down The Road,” he wrote.

Ric Flair’s Health This Year

Flair first said he had a blood clot in his leg in August, when he missed the Cauliflower Alley Club reunion in Las Vegas. He accepted the club’s Iron Mike Mazurki Award by video, saying, “I have a blood clot in my leg, so I can’t travel the five or six hour trips.” Days later, he posted on X that “A little blood clot won’t keep me from coming into Philly.”

In May, Flair posted a photo of himself outside an emergency room and said he was taking time to focus on his health. He did not say what the visit was for.

Ric Flair’s Health Over The Years

In August 2017, Flair was hospitalized with organ failure and placed in a medically induced coma. He spent 31 days in the hospital and later said doctors gave him a 20 percent chance of survival.

He wrestled what was billed as his last match in July 2022 in Nashville, teaming with Andrade El Idolo against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. He said afterward that he passed out during the match, and in 2024 told the JAXXON PODCAST that a doctor later found he had suffered a heart attack during it. Flair has a pacemaker, which he has said is for a low resting heart rate.

In June 2025, Flair canceled a fan event while being treated for melanoma, and in July 2025 he announced he was cancer-free. He was also announced for AEW’s Blood and Guts last November but left the building before the broadcast with a rotator cuff injury.

Flair, 77, is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer and 16-time world champion. He is under contract with AEW. We wish Ric Flair a full recovery.
