MVP is denying reports that the Hurt Syndicate has refused to put people over in AEW.

The Hurt Syndicate manager wrote on X on Saturday, “So I open up Twitter to see lies being reported about The Hurt Syndicate. BLATANT LIES!!! Who is the source of these lies? To the contrary, we wanted to work with younger talent! We wanted to drop the tag titles BACK to Private Party!!! STOP BELIEVING THE BS!”

In a separate post, MVP wrote, “Seriously wrestling fans. You guys have to stop believing the click bait BS reported by these idiots at these ‘dirt sheet’ sites. Rumor, gossip with absolutely ZERO facts!!!! Site your sources! Cowards.”

MVP’s posts came after Sean Ross Sapp addressed the group on the October 21 episode of Fightful’s The Hump. Asked where the Hurt Syndicate is, Sapp said, “That I do not know. Listen, I know there’s been a lot of talk about them like not wanting to put people over. There’s definitely been some situations where they haven’t wanted to. That has been a thing.” He added, “I don’t think you’re going to be seeing Hurt Syndicate anytime soon.”

The talk dates back to August 2025, when Fightful Select reported that MVP had “rubbed a lot of people the wrong way” backstage, that he didn’t want Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin to lose to JetSpeed, and that he turned down pitches for the group to lose to FTR at All In and Forbidden Door. That report said MVP suggested the group lose to teams it had already beaten that year, including Private Party. MVP has managed the Hurt Syndicate since Lashley and Benjamin joined him in AEW.

The Hurt Syndicate’s last match was on the All In: London Buy In show on August 30. The group also won the Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing in May.

Since teaming in AEW starting in January 2025, Lashley and Benjamin are 20-5 as a team, including the loss of the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Forbidden Door. In AEW singles matches, Lashley is 4-0 and Benjamin is 7-6, with losses to Jon Moxley, Ricochet, Kazuchika Okada, Daniel Garcia, Kyle Fletcher and Swerve Strickland.

As of this writing, AEW has not commented on the reports.
