AJ Francis’ TNA contract is set to expire at the end of 2026, but a new deal is expected to get done, according to Fightful Select.
Fightful’s sources said Francis wants to stay with TNA, and that TNA is hoping to keep him.
AJ Francis’ TNA Contract History
It is not the first time Francis’ TNA deal has come up at the end of a year. Fightful Select reported last November that his previous contract was set to expire at the end of 2025, and that both sides were happy with the relationship.
TNA announced on March 10 that Francis had re-signed “for the remainder of 2026.”
Francis praised TNA president Carlos Silva after re-signing. “Carlos is my favorite boss that I’ve ever worked for in wrestling and it’s not close,” Francis said on Hitting The Turnbuckle. He also credited Tommy Dreamer for bringing him in, saying, “Tommy Dreamer believed in me before it was cool to believe in me.”
AJ Francis In TNA
Francis debuted for TNA at Hard To Kill on January 13, 2024. He won the TNA Digital Media Championship from Laredo Kid in June 2024 and also declared himself Canadian International Heavyweight Champion after buying that title. He lost both to PCO in a Montreal Street Fight at Slammiversary in July 2024. Both titles have since been retired.
He led First Class with Rich Swann and KC Navarro. The group ended at Final Resolution in December 2025, when Swann turned on Francis. Francis was one of the entrants in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound for Glory on October 11 in Tampa.
Before TNA
Francis wrestled for WWE as Top Dolla in Hit Row. He signed with WWE in 2020, was released in November 2021, returned in August 2022 and was released again in September 2023. He appeared on NXT under his real name in June 2025, helping Trick Williams retain the TNA World Championship.
Before wrestling, Francis played football at the University of Maryland and was in the NFL from 2013 to 2018, starting with the Miami Dolphins. He is 36.
