Announced for SmackDown in Charleston
As of this writing, the card includes:
- Undisputed WWE Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams
- WWE Women’s Championship: Chelsea Green (c) vs. Nikki Bella
- AAA World Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) vs. Ricky Saints
- Danhausen hosts the show
Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams
Williams confronted Zayn in the opening segment on October 23 and demanded a title match. “I ain’t asking for a title match. I’m demanding a title match,” Williams said. Zayn chop blocked Williams, and SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis put Zayn and Johnny Gargano against Williams and Rey Fenix later in the night.
Backstage, Williams told Cathy Kelley, “Next week is gonna be Trick Williams versus Sami Zayn for the WWE Championship.” In the main event, Williams pinned Ricky Saints with a uranage to win a six-man tag team match with Fenix and Penta over Zayn, Gargano and Saints. Commentary said the winner of Zayn vs. Williams faces World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel.
Chelsea Green vs. Nikki Bella
Green retained the WWE Women’s Championship against Roxanne Perez on October 23 with the Unprettier. The winner of Green vs. Bella faces Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan at Crown Jewel.
After Green’s match, Women’s Money in the Bank winner Tiffany Stratton handed the referee her briefcase to cash in on Morgan, but Judgment Day pulled Morgan out of the ring before it became official. “I can’t wait to see the look on Liv’s face when I cash in and become the women’s world champion,” Stratton said backstage.
Rey Fenix vs. Ricky Saints
Saints pulled Fenix off the apron during the October 23 tag team main event, causing a disqualification, and the title match was announced after the show went off the air. Fenix first defends the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship against Mini Vikingo at AAA Heroes Inmortales on Saturday, October 24, in Mexico City.
Gunther on the Halloween show
In a WWE digital exclusive posted after SmackDown, Gunther told Cathy Kelley he plans to be at the Halloween show.
“Well, first of all, I hate Halloween,” Gunther said. “You know what, Cathy? I’m going to be there next week and I’m going to make sure it’s going to be a very special night for a very special boy.”
Two weeks from now, CM Punk faces Kevin Owens on the November 6 SmackDown at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
SmackDown airs live at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network and on Netflix internationally.
