The official ticketing page for WWE Crown Jewel now lists The Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the host of the November 7 show.
The Venue is also listed for Saturday’s Canelo Alvarez vs. Christian Mbilli boxing match. Dave Meltzer reported on Wednesday that Crown Jewel was being moved to Kingdom Arena, “the same place Saturday’s Canelo fight is taking place.”
Riyadh Season announced on Wednesday that Crown Jewel had been moved to a new venue, that all ticket holders would get a full refund and that tickets would be re-released within 48 hours. As of Friday morning, the ticketing page shows a “Notify Me” button rather than tickets for sale, with prices listed from $21.33.
WWE.com still lists Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD (King Abdullah Financial District), the outdoor stadium where the show was originally scheduled. The Venue is a smaller, indoor arena.
The move comes after weeks of security concerns in the region. The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh told Americans to avoid King Khalid International Airport after attacks on October 10. TKO CEO Ari Emanuel said on October 22 that Crown Jewel was still set for Saudi Arabia. TKO President Mark Shapiro told employees at a town hall on Wednesday that safety was “paramount” for the company’s upcoming events in the Middle East, Fightful reported.
