WWE Crown Jewel has been moved to a new venue, Riyadh Season announced Wednesday on Instagram.
“We would like to inform you that ‘WWE Crown Jewel’ has been moved to a new venue. All ticket holders will receive a full refund, and tickets will be re-released to everyone within the next 48 hours,” Riyadh Season wrote in Arabic and English.
The post does not name the new venue or say whether the show is staying in Riyadh.
Crown Jewel was scheduled for Riyadh Season Stadium. The move comes after weeks of security concerns in the region. Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport has been closed or running limited flights for most of October because of Houthi attacks out of Yemen, and it only partly reopened, with several international airlines still not flying there. The U.S. State Department warned Americans in the Middle East to exercise heightened vigilance.
Last week, TKO CEO Ari Emanuel said Crown Jewel was “still set” and that a TKO team was monitoring the situation daily, including where the show could move if needed.
