Rey Mysterio says a Team USA vs. Team Mexico match is coming to Survivor Series.
The WWE Hall of Famer told Stephanie McMahon on What’s Your Story? that he has spoken with Raw general manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis about a traditional five-on-five Survivor Series elimination match.
“I had a couple of words with Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, and we are going to put together something very special: A classic five vs. five Survivor Series match at Survivor Series where it will be Team USA vs. Team Mexico,” Mysterio said.
WWE has not officially announced the match or either team.
Survivor Series: WarGames takes place Saturday, November 28, at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas. The show is expected to feature a WarGames match between The Bloodline and The 946, with Jacob Fatu reportedly set to return as part of Roman Reigns’ team. WWE has not announced any matches for the show.
Mysterio, a three-time world champion in WWE, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023. WrestleVotes reported last month that talk at WWE TV points to 2027 as his final year as an active wrestler. WWE has not announced any retirement plans.
Survivor Series: WarGames streams on the ESPN app with an ESPN Unlimited plan in the United States and on Netflix internationally.
