Street Fighter, starring Cody Rhodes as Guile and Roman Reigns as Akuma, fell 72% in its second weekend, dropping to No. 4 at the North American box office with about $8.6 million, according to Deadline.
The film opened No. 1 last weekend with an estimated $31 million domestically and $51.1 million worldwide, below Deadline’s projection of about $70 million worldwide.
Street Fighter is at $79.6 million worldwide against a production budget of at least $82 million before marketing, according to TheWrap, which wrote that “this won’t be a theatrically profitable film for Paramount or Legendary.”
Warner Bros.’ Clayface opened No. 1 this weekend with $24 million. You Can See Everything was second with $19.5 million in its second weekend, and Wildwood was third with $11.6 million.

The Legendary Pictures and Capcom adaptation was directed by Kitao Sakurai and is distributed by Paramount Pictures. New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Hirooki Goto plays E. Honda.
Street Fighter holds a 41% critics score and a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Rhodes recently said the WWE contract he just signed is his last. He faces Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match at Crown Jewel on Saturday, November 7, in Riyadh. World Heavyweight Champion Reigns is set to face Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn at the same show. Zayn first defends against Trick Williams this Friday on SmackDown.
Analysis:
A 72% second-weekend drop is steep for a film that opened No. 1, and it points to a short theatrical run. With a budget of at least $82 million before marketing, Street Fighter will need home release and streaming to make its money back.
The drop is unlikely to change much for Rhodes or Reigns in WWE. Rhodes’ new deal lets him take outside projects, so expect more Hollywood offers regardless of how Street Fighter finishes. For now, both men are headed to Crown Jewel.
