John Cena will appear on WWE Raw next Monday, November 2, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, his first time on Raw since he retired from in-ring competition.
WWE announced Cena’s return during Monday’s Raw, shortly before the main event. The show has a special start time of 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT on Netflix.
Cena hinted on X that he will have news about the John Cena Classic.
“Make sure not to miss #WWERaw next week. SPECIAL START TIME OF 6PM EST! The wait is over, the speculation ends 11/2,” Cena wrote. “Let’s build this ‘Never Seen’ CLASSIC! OUR time is NOW!”

The John Cena Classic
Cena announced the John Cena Classic at Backlash in May as a show putting NXT wrestlers against main roster wrestlers, with a new championship decided by audience vote. He said on NBC’s TODAY show earlier this month that the Classic will take place in December.
WWE has not announced a date or venue. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the target date was December 12, the same date as Wrestlepalooza: Perth at RAC Arena in Australia. A source told WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select that December 5 is not likely, and could not confirm whether the Classic is more likely to run as a stateside show on the night of December 12 or a week later on December 19.
Cena retired after losing to Gunther by submission at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025, in Washington, D.C. He has worked with WWE in an ambassador role since then, and has said he is still swinging big with the Classic, knowing it might fail.
