Mick Foley says Megan Bayne’s performance in the women’s Blood and Guts match will be remembered as a defining part of her career.
Foley shared clips from Wednesday’s match on his Instagram Stories along with his reactions.
“This match was pure insanity. Respect to everyone involved. These women are truly hardcore,” Foley wrote.
He singled out Bayne, who was left bloodied by the end of the match.
“Years from now, when we look back at the career of Megan Bayne this will be one of the matches that defines it,” Foley wrote.
Foley also shared an Instagram post of himself bowing to Bayne after the show.
Bayne and Kris Statlander started the women’s Blood and Guts match, which opened Dynamite: Blood and Guts at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Bayne’s team of the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue), Divine Dominion (Bayne and Lena Kross) and Persephone lost to AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions the Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor), Wrathlander (Statlander and Harley Cameron), Willow Nightingale and TBS Champion Queen Aminata. It was the second women’s Blood and Guts match in AEW history.
Everyone in both Blood and Guts matches came out of the show OK, F4W’s Bryan Alvarez reported.
Foley, a WWE Hall of Famer, joined AEW in May, making his first appearance at Double or Nothing.
